A fall wedding under the Peristyle in the iconic Prospect Park nestled in Brooklyn and the city that never sleeps
Katie and Nicholas got married at Prospect Park in the height of fall amidst busy cars, city lights, quirky airbnb’s, and falling leaves.
Filled with vibrant colours and Ukrainian traditions, Katie and Nick enjoyed an intimate affair amongst the trees with their loved ones.
Nick, now a respected airline captain, and I met when we were 18 years old online. Nick lived in Florida, but would visit often. He loved Canada and together, we shared a love of music, mod clubs and Heavenly Creatures. From Blur to Mario Lanza, it just made sense when nothing else did.
Finally, Nick was marrying his long time love Katie and I was so honoured to be included in their festivities. Together, we laughed and cried. We even re-created old photos from our days at Ryerson before I flew home.
I can’t begin to describe what an an honour it is to capture a friend’s love.
We toasted the happy couple at Brookvin and ate the most delicious food and wine. The party didn’t end anytime soon (Brooklyn is amazing for its little hot spots) and it was a trip I’ll never forget. It was full of love, crazy cab rides, impromptu visits with friends, New Girl, and strawberry kombucha.
New York truly is the city that doesn’t sleep. Like ever. And I’m ok with this.
I promise, I will be back. You had me at hello, dearest darling xo
