I am so happy to be blogging this session. This session is also near and dear to me because Candice is my dear sweet cousin, who is happily in love and getting married in 2012 … in Jamaica … and guess what! I’ll be there to capture all that lovely goodness! Oh yes, my friends. My first destination wedding is coming up quickly (just booked today) and I couldn’t be happier that it’s with these two! So, without further adieu … Candice & Kris! And their beloved Kajama hehe!
We had so many ideas swirling in our heads for a session. In fact, when I closed my eyes, I envisioned something really fun for them. I saw cotton candy and candy apples, bright lights, movement. An amusement park, but of course!! Sadly, we couldn’t make it work with our schedules. Well, we could … we just didn’t want to photograph at the CNE because, well … do I really need to explain this? ;) So, we improvised and went to one of their favourite places in Toronto — Harbourfront. They really felt at home there … it was obvious when I started photographing them that Harbourfront held a special place in their minds and hearts, which gave way for a relaxed and happy couple!
Yeah, I know … super cute right?
It was a little busy on the boardwalk but these two really did their thing. Like seriously … no explanation necessary! Except someone slap me for sounding like a Valley Girl. Please. Not cool … moving on!! ;)
And this …. yep. I think I just heard you sigh along with me! Simply beautiful …
After a quick wardrobe change, we decided to end the session with a little fun. And fun is what we had. I wish all engagement sessions were like this. There is always room for a little love, spontaneity, laughter, emotion, and fun, no matter what you do or where you go … this was a true reflection of who Candice and Kris are as a couple. I know they’ll look back at these photos fondly.
This … of course … is where fun and spontaneity played its role (smile). Clearly, we weren’t the only ones having a good time! ;)
Candice + Kris, I love you both so much and cannot wait for your big day! It’s going to be an amazing experience for us all. I feel so blessed that you’ve asked me to join you on this beautiful journey in hot and sunny Jamaica. We are going to have the best time! I’m so excited, you really have no idea! Well, maybe you do! ;) Until next time, Robyn xo
