Hannah is up on the blog today! As most of you know, I have been photographing Hannah over the last year. You can see Hannah’s Fall session here. Unfortunately, Hannah broke her arm a day before our shoot, so we re-scheduled her session towards the end of Spring once she became adjusted to her new “arm jewelry”. With all the fresh leaves sprouting and thick mud a-flowing (oh yes, there was mud … a lot of it), the spirit of Spring was definitely with us!
Isn’t she adorable! I can’t believe how big she’s gotten over the last year. This is one of the many reasons why I feel so blessed to do what I do. I love watching families grow. And Hannah … oh Hannah, you’ve given me some of my favourite shots to date!
Yes, I will admit, Leah and I had concerns about whether we should go forward with her session. We weren’t sure whether she’d be agreeable with her cast on, but we decided that if we were going to properly capture the last year of her life, that we needed to do it — cast and all. Â Best decision ever. Hannah rocked her session and then some. Not once did she let that cast rule her. In fact, it became a part of her! Not an easy feat for a 4 year old!
Of course, we managed to creatively hide her cast for a few photos too. We didn’t want it to be the center of attraction! ;)
Since it was Spring, we had to incorporate a bit of a theme. It’s a good thing we brought her rain boots! She definitely needed them. Not because it rained. But because she stepped into a huge pile of mud, literally minutes after putting on a brand new pair of white sneakers (as seen in the photo above). Guess what Leah was doing while I shot these next series of photos … ;)
Hannah, you are an absolute joy to photograph. You keep me on my toes. Never a dull moment when I’m with you. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. Now, stop growing already! ;) Until next time, Robyn xo
