Spring. It’s finally here in Burlington and we couldn’t wait to get out and enjoy some sun as a family. Downtown Burlington is beautiful. We have an amazing boardwalk with restaurants and shops that line the main drag along Brant and Lakeshore. The kids wanted to walk to the tower and look at the water, skip rocks, and get ice cream — of course! I wanted to hit Centro. I’d say it was a win-win all around.
The ice cream parlour was probably my favourite part of our spring day. We sat at a little 50s diner and it was packed full of people. They had my favourite ice cream though – mocha almond fudge, so ya, I indulged a little. Of course, the minute we left, Jackson asked for poutine (we were parked next to a poutinerie of course opposite Lettuce Love Cafe). You may think I’m joking about the poutine part, but sadly, I’m not. I have two boys and they never stop eating. But asking for poutine, well … there is no mistaking whose child he belongs to haha!
It was a simple and beautiful day. An homage to fresh air, new life, buttons, bow ties, beach hair, prisming, ice cream and the most amazing plates ever made (see my Instagram feed to see what I mean). I’m so happy warm spring weather is here! Praying this isn’t just a big tease and we get snow on Mothers Day again. Oh yes, true story! Oh, Canada!
How’s your April been so far?
And as always, thank you for checking out what we’ve been up to! Please keep the circle going by visiting my sweet friend Karen’s 10 on 10 here; she recently moved to Montreal – so happy to have her closer to home! Cheers, Robyn x
