This was such an awesome wedding featuring two super lovely people. Alex and Mark, I’ve tortured you long enough — I hope it was worth the wait. We started out down the street at the Four Points Sheraton in St. Catherines where both the bride and groom to be were getting ready. Thank God for iPads and Vimy who was able to help the boys pin on their boutonnieres after a few laughs! Mark ended up with the wrong boutonniere but we got him sorted out later! ;) Super handsome right? A few details before I got started on Alex and the girls… These moments are truly why I highly encourage “getting ready” photos. Seeing Alex with her sister and mother really brought it home for me. Seriously!! Isn’t Alex just a classically beautiful bride? And her bridesmaids looked so pretty! Going back to Alex, these were too beautiful not to share. Honestly Alex, you took my breath away. We did their first look shortly after arriving to Hernder Estate Winery. It was a bit wet out but that wasn’t stopping us from doing it right in the vineyards! I loved seeing Mark holding hands with his best man Dave! Alex had her eyes closed so I’m sure she’ll get a giggle out of this too! But my giggles quickly turned to tears after witnessing Alex and Mark seeing each other for the first time. *sigh* A few family portraits before we started with full bridal photos, which were a ton of fun! Hernder has so many gorgeous spots to take photos! That beautiful rich red that Alex and Mark chose is the perfect colour for fall. So beautiful and elegant! Aren’t they one heck of a good looking group? We ventured to the back of Hernder; something that I’m sure isn’t very common. I mean, there’s nothing really back there … or so we thought! We ended up having a lot of fun back there! Shhh, not sure if we were supposed to be back there but uhhh I know some people, who know some people hehe! This is why I love doing a first look and bridal portraits before the wedding. We were all at ease. We had such a fun afternoon that by the time the ceremony came, we were all so laid back and carefree! It was really lovely watching Alex walk down the aisle with her father. Seeing the look on Mark’s face just said it all. Alex, who had so many beautiful expressions and points of emotion on her big day was an absolute joy to capture. This girl … I mean, really!More heartfelt moments… And the big group shot followed by a few more bridal party and bride and groom shots. Oh, we had so much fun! As if we didn’t have enough … but hey, the flasks and cigars hadn’t made an appearance yet ;) Now, onto the main attraction! Alex and Mark; the beautiful couple and gorgeous bride and groom. I’ve talked a lot about Hernder Estate Winery and heres why; it’s simply amazing. I’ve said it many times before and I’ll say it again. There’s a number of reasons why I’m a preferred photographer there and why I love shooting weddings with them. The staff is professional, warm and welcoming (Penny, you are a godsend and Angel, you are literally an angel), the food and wine is amazing (my dear friend Lydia Tomek is the winemaker there and I’m so incredibly proud of her), and the grounds are stunning! You really can’t ask for a better establishment, people or experience when you choose Hernder! After lots of photo taking, we joined in on the reception and enjoyed an amazing dinner full of great speeches and lots of laughter and tears. I know many photographers don’t care for this part of the evening but this is when you truly get to know your couple, which is an amazing thing! What a stunning cake by Criveller Cakes! Alex, your face just kills me here! More beautiful moments and lots of singing, followed by some heartfelt moments on the dance floor. Alex & Mark, you were an absolute joy to spend the day with. Not only was your wedding day such a beautiful occasion, it warmed my heart to meet your family and friends who clearly love and adore you! I hope this post reminded you of your beautiful day and of the many memories that came from your wedding. It was an honour to be there with you! Lots of love to you both! Robyn xo
