My first engagement session of the year. And what a great one it was! Say hello to Jess & Steve!
When Jess and I started chatting about ideas, I suggested we keep it real. Incorporate ideas that represent who they are as a couple. And with that, we ended up at the Cheltenham Badlands for their session. Originally we talked about hitting the streets of Toronto but when Jess mentioned the Badlands, it was a done deal for me having never shot there before. I can’t begin to tell you how amazing this place is. It’s literally in the middle of nowhere. If you haven’t been, I highly suggest checking it out! Isn’t nature amazing?
And moreso, how cute are they!
Breathtaking, right?
Next, we moved onto the Brickworks in the area. After a quick change, we were ready to go again. How gorgeous do they look!
And my favourite shot of the day!
One last change of clothes and we took to the trails. They had me smiling from ear to ear. It’s ridiculous how sweet they are. Jess has the sweetest giggle. Her eyes light up when she looks at Steve. Honestly, it’s endearing to watch. I also really loved that we were able to make their session about who they are as a couple while having fun! In my opinion, that’s what an engagement session should be. True.
So … at this point, I thought we were done. We didn’t think we could get into the Brickworks – but a little “birdy” (thanks Courtney and the power of Facebook!!) told us that we could get in past the fence IF we looked hard enough. And we did. I won’t say anymore about how we did it and if we broke any rules ;) just know, we left pretty quickly once we heard rumblings from one of the buildings haha!!
Jess & Steve, I am so excited for your wedding this June. You were a joy to photograph and I could feel your love in abundance on our afternoon together! This is just the beginning of something incredibly special that I’m proud to be a part of! :) Until next time, Robyn xo
PS: Hard to believe this under two weeks ago. Spring literally came the day after we took these photos! ;)
