I’m sure you’ll recognise these two adorable kids. I’ve been photographing both Gavin and Fiona since they were oh-so little (Fiona was my feistiest newborn to date … yep, she still holds the title hehe). Now, that they’re a little older and know/love their Auntie Robyn so SO much (tee-hee), they are willing to get in front of my lens to commemorate their milestone birthdays.
It all started with a fancy hat and coat that Fiona received as a gift from her Granny who was in Ireland not too long ago. I saw it and knew I had to photograph her in it before she outgrew it. And so it began. The diva in the hat and coat. Two years old. Rocking my lens. Winning your hearts.
Sassy.
Don’t be fooled. That first photo of Fiona. I asked her to give me that look on purpose, I swear hahah!! ;) And wouldn’t you know it, I absolutely adore it. But the photos didn’t end there. Fiona also received an apple belt and matching red hat that I knew she’d want to model. And she proudly sang Flo Rida’s song “Low” while taking these photos, so it goes without saying that this girl is after my heart!
Now, we turn the page to Gavin. He turned 4 years old last month, so we felt it only fitting to do a few shots of him in the same location as Fiona. The location is top secret by the way! ;) I gotta say … Gavin did a super job in front of the camera.!! As much as I wanted to capture him doing something that he loved to really commemorate the age and stage, there is nothing like a good ol fashioned portrait to pull at the heart strings. The first shot just rocks me to the core.
Beautiful, right? It’s amazing. When I look at photos of Gavin, I’m often reminded of my son Jameson. They don’t necessarily look alike but they do share a lot of similar qualities by way of their eyes and facial expressions. It makes perfect sense — and that much more special for me personally. Gavin, you were awesome! I know how happy your mama was to have these photos! Happy Birthday buddy! Thanks for always being such a good sport and listening to your Auntie Robyn! :)
On a personal note, it’s always so nice (and rewarding) for me to share photos that I’m proud of. Photos that come from my heart that come from love. MaryEllen & Shannon, thanks for letting me capture your children as I see it. For trusting my vision. For always supporting me both professionally and personally. I love you guys! It’s always a pleasure! Until next time, Robyn xo
