I had the absolute pleasure of photographing another sweet baby girl in my studio. There is some serious baby fever in the air! First of all, I love her name. Sofia. It’s so classic and so beautiful — and so was she. Just look at her …
Sofia was an absolute trooper! She had a full day of appointments in the morning in Stoney Creek, followed by her session with me in Burlington that started at almost 400pm in the afternoon! Yes, I know … I was shocked too! For a few reasons. First of all, most of my newborn sessions last at least 3-4 hours long and I always do them in the morning as I prefer photographing babies in natural light. I have to admit, starting so late gave me a little anxiety at first. I wasn’t sure how much time I’d need with her and I wasn’t sure how cooperative she’d be in the afternoon (typically, babies are much happier in the morning). So, why an afternoon/evening session? Well, my new studio space provides me with the most amazing light all day long, which allowed me to try a later session time with Sofia. It worked like a charm! She was amazing! So amazing that I finished her session in record time — in under 2 hours! Now onto the goods. All my favourite B words — baby bits, bubbles, and bums.
I’ve talked a lot about Sofia and how beautiful she is, but it was no surprise after seeing her parents. This photo makes me smile. There’s something so peaceful about Aracely and Joe holding their baby girl so delicately!
Aracely and Joe, thank you for trusting me with your precious baby girl. It was an honour to photograph your family! I look forward to watching Sofia grow! A special shout out also goes to Rose (Joe’s sister) for arranging such a wonderful and special gift of photography for her brother and wife. I know they will forever cherish this special time in their lives forever — and they have you to thank for that! I’ll leave you with one of my faves from the session! Until next time … Robyn xo
