So, here we are … the beginning of summer. The season of warm weather and all things lovely, including outdoor sessions! Normally, I suggest to clients that we conduct sessions in a park with open shade. That way, we get lots of different textures and backdrops — but Anna & Alex had a different plan in mind. They wanted a very personal session and asked if I could make use of their backyard. I will admit, I had reservations because I had no idea what their backyard was like and whether there was any potential. We were also on a time constraint so I knew that every minute counted. But all my fears disappeared when I step foot into their backyard. WOW!!! I was in awe at how big and gorgeous their backyard was. I think at one point I told Anna and Alex that I’d be happy to live in their backyard. It really had everything I was after — gorgeous greens, beautiful trees, a very enticing pool, and lots of open shade and light (which worked to my advantage since I was photographing them during the brightest part of the day).
I was particularly excited to meet their son Vlad. He just turned 6 months of age (my favourite age to document) and had the most amazing blue eyes I’ve ever seen! Although he was very reserved with me (and a wee bit cranky because it was his nap time), he was turned up the charm for the camera, giving me what I needed to properly capture how beautiful he truly child is!
Anna & Alex, thank you for inviting me into your home. I truly enjoyed capturing your precious moments and loved how beautiful the photos turned out as I feel they represent who you are as a family in your personal space. Enjoy your sneak peak!!! :)
PS: The last photo … (sigh) I love it! Not only is he workin’ the camera, the light and shadows from the trees above imprinted a heart on his forehead. Seriously!!! How cute is that!
