An animal’s eyes have the power to speak a great language
This couldn’t be more true! As you all know, I tend to photograph a lot of babies and children. It’s beautiful watching the way children are in front of the camera. Their innocent demeanor. The joy in their eyes. The love they have for their parents. It’s a wonderful thing! But I realised after this particular session that the same love applies for animals who are lucky enough to have wonderful caregivers in their lives. Enter Erica and Tucker.
I have known Erica for a while now and I love this girl a lot! We met on a film set years ago when we were both in the film/tv entertainment industry and hit it off instantly. We knew from the moment we met that we’d be friends for a really long time and have seen each other through thick and thin. Needless to say, it was an absolute treat getting to photograph my beautiful girlfriend and her dog Tucker in downtown Toronto. A former model, Erica knew how to work the camera, which made my job super easy! Marc joined in on the fun too, although posing for the camera didn’t come as naturally to him (or so he thinks). Despite this, he did a great job taking my guidance and posing for the camera (and basically taking my abuse for an hour LOL)! Marc even treated us out to Nami afterwards for sushi! Mmmm, thanks Marc, it was delicious! :)
Before I get to the sneak peak, I have to say, words do not describe the personality of Tucker. First of all, he greeted me with hugs and kisses when I showed up at their door. I’m not kidding!! I have never met a more affectionate and loving dog in my life! At one point, Tucker crept up behind me and wrapped his arms around me, licking my head and neck. I mean, seriously, how cute is that! Once we got to the park in the heart of St. Lawrence Market, we let Tucker run free amongst the other dogs (and people) who were roaming the area. We knew he had a lot of energy to expend, so we let him get everything out pf his system before we we started the session. He was putty in our hands after that! ;)
Erica, I’m so glad your mom asked me to take photos of you and Tucker as a surprise for your birthday. I know you’ll cherish these photos forever, which means more to me than you know (because I was able to do that for you). Marc, it was an absolute pleasure meeting you! I hope to see you both again soon! And now, without further adieu, here’s your sneak peak!
And my personal fave! We were just having fun people (don’t get any ideas)!! ;)
