A Family Affair | Barrie Family Photographer

I have been saving this blog post until my mother in law received her birthday gift from us … then time got the best of me with this month being insanely busy for sessions. I feel like I haven’t blogged in forever … but there’s much more to come, beginning with this! :)

In July, my mother in law celebrated a milestone birthday. Some may say she doesn’t look a day over 30 … and you know what they say, “a lady never reveals her age” (smile), so the focus will be her celebration rather than her age! The entire family (every single one of us, including all our kiddies) got together to celebrate the occasion at Springwater National Park in Barrie. It is an incredibly gorgeous and scenic location, and perfect for families! Since I was asked to document the event, I came equipped to capture the entire family. Not an easy feat for anyone who knows a thing or two about photography. With no one in front of the lens, it’s hard to know when to press the shutter. I relied completely on a timer, hoping that my settings were good enough to capture us all properly. When I photograph large families, I take at least 10 shots. They gave me 3 shots LOL! That was about all the men would tolerate. Thankfully, 2 out of the 3 shots turned out brilliantly! ;) Here’s the first group photo, that made it onto the storyboard I designed for my mother in law’s canvas wrap!

A few more from the day …

My sister in law’s family (you guys will probably recognise her two kids from previous posts).

My family :)

And my personal fave that will soon be on my walls as a large canvas wrap …

Happy Birthday Mumm! I hope you cherish these photos for years and years to come!
