Sorry Kyle! But you are severely outnumbered with a gorgeous wife, two beautiful girls (and a baby on the way who has decided to join the girl team)! Â Meet the Clark family!
This amazing family contacted me for a portrait session back in October — but Movember, errrr I mean November, almost ruined it for us all (laugh). Now, don’t get me wrong. I completely support Movember (most of you know that my hubby also grew a little caterpillar on his face, so I really can’t say anything negative about it all) but I don’t blame Cathie for wanting the session to happen after Movember was over. At the beginning of the month, I thought …. “No problem”. This time last year, we were out in long sleeved sweaters. No jackets were necessary. My roses were still in bloom!! It’ll be fine! Well, I was wrong (which is why I am not a weather forecaster, thank you very much). On Saturday morning, the day of their session, we woke up to gusty winds and … SNOW! Our first official snowfall for the season! And while I was super excited to see that fluffy stuff, I also wondered what it would do to our portrait session. So, Cathie and I decided to improvise by doing a few in and outdoor shots. This actually worked out so well because I was able to capture the girls in their gorgeous Christmas dresses … aren’t they adorable?! I love this moment … hugging with your eyes closed. Doesn’t get any better than this!
The girls and I enjoyed putting decorations on the tree and dancing to the Black Eyed Peas before bundling up for the outdoors. Miraculously, the wind disappeared and so did the snow, which made for the perfect afternoon to take outdoor photos in Burlington! WOW, what a gorgeous family! I am swooning over these photos because they were real moments captured … the girls were literally two seconds away from falling over in laughter, I kid you not! And I absolutely love their outfits! Cathie, you did a great job!
We let the girls play for a few minutes while I snuck in some one-on-one time with their gorgeous mama and handsome daddy! We did a few maternity shots — some of  my favourite images from the session! Can you believe Cathie is due on December 22nd! Seriously, you are one of the most beautiful (and lucky) pregnant women I’ve ever seen! And if you’re asking yourself why Cathie looks familiar, it’s because she can be seen in all the billboards for AutoPark Superstore in Burlington (yep, she’s the cutie with the belly in the photos)!
After playing in the leaves, we went indoors for some yummy hot chocolate and more picture taking (although the girls were way more interested in the marshmallows and sprinkles, who can blame em)! All in all, a wonderful day of love and photography! I’ll love the last photo I posted above (and it’s not just because both girls were looking in the camera haha)! We were singing the theme song to Dora. This is what parenthood is all about. I also have a knack for embarrassing myself in front of my clients to get “the” shot! What can I say, it’s my job and I love it through and through!
Cathie & Kyle, thanks so much for welcoming me into your home and hearts! And thank you for being so patient with me as I nursed my laryngitis/bronchitis over the last few days. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with you and look forward to our upcoming sessions this month!!
