Hi Everyone!
I just wanted to write a quick blog post to, first of all, to thank every single one of you for being YOU!  This year has been absolutely amazing for me! It’s been a whirlwind of emotions as I embarked in my first year of crazy beautiful madness … that is, the life of a professional portrait photographer. At the start of the year, I will admit, I was scared. Scared that I wouldn’t succeed. Scared that I wouldn’t be able to support my family doing what I love. Scared that no one would get my vision (let alone care) and that my business would sink like many do in their first year of service. But YOU changed that for me. You took my fears and threw them away. You opened your hearts and homes to me. You listened and embraced. You let me take risks. And most of all, you let me be myself, creating images that I am proud to say I’ve taken. As I sit here reflecting on the last 12 months, I can’t help but smile. This time last year, I would never have guessed that I’d be asked to photograph for a major US magazine. I never envisioned seeing my photographs on billboards (yep, stay tuned). And I certainly didn’t see myself landing on TV (yep, more news … stay tuned). I’ve met so many wonderful people and it’s all because of you. So seriously, thank you … so much! My love for people, passion, and photography has saved me in more ways than you’ll ever know!
Now that we’re into December, I wanted to let everyone know that I wasn’t kidding when I said I was sold out for 2010. I’ve taken on a few clients this month out of good measure, but I really do need to shut down to work on the business end of things (including a revamp of my website, woohoo)! I also need to spend time with my family. Don’t fret people, I will be updating my blog and fan page with lots of goodies, so you’ll get your fix! :) And on January 3rd 2011, I will be opening my doors again for another year of business! I have already started booking for what looks to be an incredibly busy year ahead. I am so looking forward to what 2011 has to offer and am excited to see a lot of your beautiful faces again!
On another note, I need to send a special shout-out to everyone who donated to Wesley and our Movember team. It’s been a long month of fundraising. December 1st couldn’t come soon enough! ;) Seriously people, I haven’t had a proper kiss from my hubby in a month so I’m feeling deprived … the ‘stache has to go! But we had a great time taking cheesy photos and laughing at his expense, posting daily themes for everyone to see. Wes was such a great sport!!! I know many of you enjoyed our “mo” series, so we are hoping to do this again in the near future! And if you like what you see, you can still donate!
